Fine craftsman works
on large format tiles

As a contractor, Arhimont has extensive experience in large format tile installation.

Modern technologies enable the production of ceramic tiles of larger dimensions – even over 3.0 m long, 1.5 m wide, and 3 mm to 12 mm thick.

One of the greatest advantages of large format tiles is that they visually enlarge a room. The size of the tiles accentuates the whole vision, “distorts” other sizes, and makes space look bigger, brighter, and certainly more striking while creating an atmosphere of luxury.

Designers prefer the final look without too many tile joints. It seems that the large format tiles have become inevitable among designers and their use is becoming more widespread.

Larger formats require fewer elements to cover the entire surface, so installation time is also reduced. Plus, it doesn’t require as much grouting which means less soiling. Setting up large formats is no longer an expensive and complex job.

Since the tiles to be installed are thin and large, the flatness of the substrate is a particularly important aspect when installing.

For the installation of large format tiles, the current standards recommend the double application of glue. In other words, the glue needs to be applied to the substrate and the back of the tile. The back of the tile must be clean and dust-free.
